We got a lot of emails from americans with the question where they are still welcome to gamble online. Since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act has passed the US Congress, it has become hard for US citizens to make a deposit at an online casino. UIGEA
The UIGEA is short for the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, this law was approved in 2006. What might be confusing is that this law does not prohibit online gambling, it prohibits the transfer of funds from a U.S. financial institution to an online gambling location. Before this legislation online gambling was allready illegal in the United States. As soon as the UIGEA was passed in 2006 big casino operators like PartyGaming left the US. Doing this they left millions of US players behind.
